I know that my most recent posts look like I have forgotten how to use the
‘enter’ key appropriately. I’m posting via email these days and for some
reason, I can’t get it to handle the returns and space correctly. So sorry.
Potty Training

I haven’t said much about potty training my little princess but it has been
quite the adventure. We have spent most of Christmas break in “big girl
panties” and she’s doing really well….as long as I tell her to go about
100 times a day.
But she is getting there.
Forgive the description, but she usually has little rabbit terds. She
mentioned earlier this morning that her tummy hurt so I told her to sit on
the potty and try to make poop. No luck. Daddyo came home from a hunting
trip and hadn’t been here long when she comes running in from the playroom
holding something between her thumb and index finger. “Look! Poop! I made
Poop!”
Gross.
So again, we had her sit on the potty and tried not to laugh at the
exaggerated sounds of straining.
Me: Gracey, if you can poop on the potty I’ll let you have some jello
Gracey: Jello?
Me: yes, Jello.
Gracey: Now? If I poop I eat jello?
Me: yes
Gracey: All done
Me: did you poop? (she hadn’t been there more than a few seconds)
Gracey: I did. A weally, weally long one! See! See that long one?
Nice.
She has also picked up a bad habit lately. She rather enjoys showing people
her butt. Most of the time, she has pants on but in the last week or so
(when she has been wearing only panties most of the day) she thinks it is
just hilarious to bend over, pull her panties down and laugh hysterically.
Here’s hoping that never happens in public.
The Real World

With the holiday vacation time quickly coming to an end, I’m surprised by my
reaction. I thought I’d be eager for preschool to start again so I could
have a little more time to myself but I’m not. I’m not ready for it to start
again. I’ve really been having fun with the kids and we’ve fallen into a
great routine. A routine that will be completely shot once we start school
again.
And poor little Mathew. He has a hard time sleeping when he misses a nap – if
he gets too tired he has trouble going to sleep and staying asleep. So it’s
been great getting those naps in but once again, starting Monday it’s all
screwed up again.
Sigh.
Oh, and any ideas for a 3 year old’s birthday party? I’m open. Trying to
decide if we’ll have friends or just family over.
Amazing Kids

Happy New Year! Daddyo left this morning for his last hunting trip of the
season and the kids and I ventured out to the mall. We ended up being there
for three hours and they were perfect little angels. They were very patient
while I was shopping and didn’t complain when it took longer than I
expected. They both sat perfectly still to get their hair cut. I carried
Mathew in the baby bjorn and he never made a sound. No one kept getting out
of the stroller. No one complained when it was time to leave the play area
at 1pm and we still hadn’t eaten lunch.
See what I mean? AMAZING kids.
